We Should All Question Things...

As I mentioned in yesterday's Blog, I feel like I've been constantly lied to by the government from Day 1 of the pandemic - BUT it feels to me like the magnitude of lies told has almost numbed society into just accepting the fact that things don't make sense! It's almost like we are just as susceptible to covid but immune to lies! I think my most over used word of late is nonsensical! I think it's important that all of us, vaccinated or not take a stand and say we won't accept it anymore. My biggest frustration is the lack of accountability coming from the press. A free press's job is to hold those in power accountable for the statements & decisions they make. Here is a few things that I would like the media to actually investigate - maybe if we got to the truth in these matters we would all be in a better position to make informed decisions! 1) Covid Deaths - well, it appears that the number quoted by the press is actually "deaths from any cause within 28 days of a positive test" - it doesn't take a genius to work out that this most likely inflates Covid deaths quite significantly. In fact replace "within 28 days of a positive test" with anything and I am sure we could create FEAR about most things we wanted! 2) MASKS - whatever your view this needs discussion. Wearing or not wearing one seems to me more designed to pitch person against person than to protect anyone's health. There is nowhere that has had a strict and adhered to mask mandate that has fared any better than places that had none. Surgical masks are worn by surgeons to stop droplets containing bacteria from entering open wounds - Viruses are 1/10000mm, much smaller than the holes in a mask - watch anyone wear a mask and smoke a vape and see how the smoke billows out - the virus particles in your breath are much smaller than those smoke particles. Back in 2020 the WHO said people with no symptoms (ie not coughing/sneezing) should NOT wear a mask as the on/off, touching face was more likely to cause transmission. Also, I really think this should be a "as you please" scenario. I do not want to tell anyone NOT to wear a mask - IF they feel more secure wearing one then go ahead - but anybody choosing not to wear one should be left alone with their personal choice. 3) CASES - media loves to report a headline case number - BUT a good journalist would report it with the balance of number of tests. If we test 1m people today and get 50,000 cases and test 2m people tomorrow - of course we will see a c100,000 case number! If we test NOBODY, the case number will be zero - I appreciate the media has a propensity for sensationalism but if this is a genuine health crisis they have a duty to the truth! 4) HOSPITALISATIONS - another number that when you dig into the detail is just plainly wrong. Many of the Covid Hopitalisations we are told about are people in hospital for other reasons who happen to test positive - they are not actually being treated for Covid - most might not have even known they'd had it! Again it feels like the data is inflated on purpose to cause fear.... 5) VACCINE PASSPORTS - This is I think is the most important issue for all of us - irrespective of our vaccination status. In a nutshell, many countries have adopted a scheme where you can only enter shops if you can show via a government app that your vaccination status is up to date (was 2X shots moving to 3X) - BUT why? I'm sure like me you know many people at the moment who have sadly caught Covid - many of the people I know who have ARE vaccinated - showing your vax status does not prevent a covid infected person from entering a place as anybody, vaccinated or not could be in the early stages of covid. In fact one could argue that if the vax really does make symptoms much milder, a vaccinated person may be less likely to know they are ill - and therefore more likely to be contagious and out and about! BUT - I will accept that some people still think it's a good idea - and it's to those people I want to appeal. It may be vax status now - BUT what if the government decides that it's something else you have to comply with to have these freedoms - and it's something you do not want to comply with - what if a government you hate gets elected? Once in place, this "show me your papers" scheme is open to abuse by whoever is in power. Do you really want to start down that path?
