I want to clarify my position as to my thoughts regarding Covid/Vaccines etc. Firstly, I do not deny Covid - it's a nasty virus that hit me hard when I caught it earlier this year. I am not a conspiracy theorist - challenging the narrative, asking questions, waiting for more information should not be seen as a bad thing. In fact asking questions about science is exactly how science moves forward - when science can not be questioned it becomes propaganda. I am not anti-vaccines - I've had my child vaccinated with MMR and HPV vaccines. I am OK with anyone who has chosen themselves to take the Covid vaccine. I strongly believe in bodily autonomy & freedom to choose. OK....now I have clarified my position - I want to say what is upsetting me & causing me a lot of stress. These are the things that I want all my friends & family to consider as I believe we are all in this together - irrespective of vaccine status. 1) We are being lied to. Almost everything our government has told us from day one has been a lie. Too many to mention, but from "three weeks to flatten the curve" to the ever moving goal posts on who needed to be vaccinated (to start they said ONLY the vulnerable) - it has all been fibs. It's hard for me to trust a government that has lied at every turn. Also, pay attention to what they do more than what they say....the leaks of government officials breaking their own rules during lockdown is probably the tip of the iceberg - If they were as fearful as they have made some parts of the public, they'd be following their own rules. I really feel for my vaccinated friends - I know many who took the vaccine believing at first that it would stop them getting Covid or transmitting it to loved ones - or to reclaim freedom to travel etc - this is what we were told - it was not true. Good people took the vaccine for GOOD reasons - and many of those reasons were false information from the government. I still support anyone who wants to continue to take each booster - that is their right, their freedom....and whilst I might disagree with their reasoning - I 100% support their right to do as they wish. 2) Why no early treatment protocol? It's worth listening to the Peter Mcullough podcast with Joe Rogan - we are almost two years in and still there is no advice/protocol on early treatment post confirmation of a positive test - yet there is clear evidence that certain therapeutics are very successful in reducing hospitalisations. Many of these are incredibly safe drugs with almost no downside to taking them - with such a focus on not overloading the NHS, one would assume that the government would want to try anything that could keep people out of hospital - but nada. In fact many of the safe drugs (Ivermectin) have been demonised by certain areas of the press 3) Why is nobody talking natural immunity? It's clear from many peer reviewed studies that the best immunity is one acquired naturally - yet people who have had covid but no vaccinations are not given any credit for this immunity - that makes zero sense and suggests an agenda at play 4) We should all (irrespective of vaccine status) stand together against vaccine passports - they make zero sense from a public health point of view. I think by now we all are aware that getting vaccinated doesn't stop you from catching Covid - I have no doubt (the evidence is clear) that it helps reduce symptoms for many people - but does little to stop the spread. So knowing someone's vaccine status is no indication of current infection - rendering vax passports useless. I am fearful, and believe we all should be, that this is cover for increased governmental control over the public. Once in place, these passports could be used to coerce anyone into anything if the punishment is not being allowed to participate in society - this is something we should all find appalling and stand together against. 5) Mandatory vaccines - again, irrespective of vaccine status, I think this is something we should stand together against. Medical autonomy should be sacrosanct. The only person I have tried to talk out of having a vaccine is my very healthy teenage daughter as she is still a child and therefore I am still responsible for her wellbeing. I have no issues with any adult making a decision for themselves to take the vaccine. I fully support everyone's rights to do that. But again, irrespective of vaccine status I would love my friends to stand with me in opposing mandatory vaccines. I really think it's a first step down a dangerous path. If the government can force you (even if it's by coercion) to take a medical intervention - then at some point it may feel it has the power to force you to do something you strongly disagree with. It's a pandora's box, and should remain firmly closed. 6) DO NOT let them divide us. Whatever your vaccination status - do not allow someone else's differing choice to impact your relationship with them. Your mates are still your mates, vaccinated or not! A population divided is one that is easily controlled. We must stand together & respect each other's personal choices. Example: I have friends that drink a lot more that I do....Do I agree with how much they drink, no....is it any of my business, also NO!....would I like legislation that controlled how much they drink...HELL NO! Thing is, I think most of us want to live in a society where we are free to make our own decisions be they good or bad - and I hope we stand shoulder to shoulder to defend all our rights to freedom 7) I implore people to look harder into the data - and rely less on the MSM & government soundbites. Covid is a nasty virus, but it is (hopefully) now doing what most viruses do - and become less virulent. Headline numbers blasted out by the press have created an environment of unnecessary fear. For the vast majority of people, covid will be a mild disease with no or manageable symptoms - that is what Chris Whitty said at the start and it may be the last honest thing he said! The average age of a "covid death" almost two years in is 82. This is a virus that mostly affects you if you are very old, very ill or very overweight - that's not a soundbite, that is backed up by the data.
